- Very first steps
a) Receive your laptop
– Set a device name following the pattern: i<inventory number>
– Setting up the device for personal use, not for work or school
– If necessary create a new windows account. Note: There are workarounds googable to install Windows 11 without a Microsoft-Account by using an offline account during installation (https://www.makeuseof.com/windows-11-set-up-without-internet-connection/). You can create a Microsoft account with you itestra e-mail as well)
– Do not work under an admin account
– Set up a password, PIN or fingerprint to unlock your screen
b) Receive the initial e-mail password from your local contact person(projectlead/hr) and start first Strato Webmail, than Thunderbird. Change the one-time password directly - Set up your GitLab account: Head over with your laptop to gitlab.itestra.com and create your account using your itestra e-mail address (lastname@itestra.de for germany; lastname@itestra.at for austria) and Username = Firstname.Lastname
- Come back to https://inside.itestra.com/onboarding/ and find your Onboarding Checklist: Get to know itestra regulations and internal tools by following the checklist page by page and step by step

After each page, you have the option to ‘Save and Resume’ and continue at that point using a link in your mailbox - Done! Now off to project onboarding with your project team
